Your migraine record — kept private, kept by you.

A calm, private migraine diary. Log an attack in under a minute, then see your own intensity over time, how you rated each medication and dose, and a doctor-ready PDF of what you recorded.

All three are free, always. No account. Your health data never leaves your iPhone.

The Respite trend screen: 30 logged attacks, an average intensity of 5.6 on a 1 to 10 scale, a line of the intensities recorded across three days, and a plain-language summary of what was logged.
Log in seconds

One tap to log. As much detail as you want.

Rate an attack 0–10 and you’re done. Or add where it hurt on a tappable head map, the triggers you noticed, your symptoms, the medication you took and a note — every field optional, nothing ever required.

The same record then powers your trend, your medication view and the doctor report.

The Respite attack-detail screen: a tappable head map with the left temple selected, plus optional chips for triggers such as poor sleep and skipped meal, and symptoms such as nausea and light sensitivity.
Free, always

The three views other trackers keep behind a subscription

These are the reason Respite exists. They are not a trial, not a teaser and not a first taste of something you have to buy — they are the free app, and they always will be.

The trend screen, showing average intensity and a line of the intensities recorded.

Intensity over time

Every attack you rate becomes a point on your own line, by month or across all of it. No more rebuilding a year of history in a spreadsheet the night before an appointment.

Included free
The medication screen: Sumatriptan 100 mg with a breakdown of how it was rated across the doses recorded — here, helped a lot on two of three occasions.

Medication, dose by dose

Log what you took, how much and how it went. Respite shows it back exactly as you recorded it — 100 mg and 50 mg kept apart, with the number of uses each figure rests on.

Included free
The doctor report preview: a 90-day summary with attack counts, an intensity chart, a medication table, and the triggers and symptoms logged.

A report for your appointment

One tap turns the period you choose into a clean PDF — attack days, intensities, medications, triggers — ready to hand to your GP or neurologist. It prints legibly in black and white.

What Respite is

A record, not an oracle

Respite only ever shows you what you put in. Nothing is inferred and nothing is added. That is what makes it your record, rather than somebody’s guess about you.

  • Records your attacks, symptoms, triggers, medications and doses, exactly as you enter them.
  • Shows your own history back to you, as counts, averages and plain summaries.
  • Hands it over as a PDF, so you and your doctor can look at the same thing.
What Respite is not

Things Respite will never do

Respite is not a medical device, and it never guesses about your health. It shows you what you wrote down and leaves the reading of it to you and your doctor.

  • No forecasts. Respite will never tell you an attack is coming or score your risk.
  • No diagnosis. It counts what you logged. It does not name a condition or pass a verdict.
  • No dosing advice. No calculator, no “best medication”, no suggestion to change what you take.
  • No data sale. Your record is not aggregated, licensed or sold to anyone, including pharmaceutical companies.
Where your data lives

On your iPhone. Nowhere else.

What you log about your migraines is some of the most private information you have, and the law treats it that way too. The safest way for us to look after it is not to have it at all — so Respite has no server, no account and no sync.

No account, ever

No email, no password, no sign-in wall. Open the app and start logging. There is no profile of you anywhere because there is nowhere to keep one.

Nothing is uploaded

Attacks, medications, symptoms and anything Respite reads from the Health app stay on your phone. Exports and backups are files you make yourself — they go where you send them, and nowhere else.

Delete it all in one tap

Erase everything from Settings at any time, or simply remove the app. Because nothing was ever copied off the device, deleting really is deleting.

Nothing leaves your iPhone. Respite has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising identifier — not a single usage event is sent anywhere. There is no account, no server and no sync, so there is simply no copy of anything to collect. Read the full privacy policy.

Cost

Free. All of it.

Every feature, for everyone, at no cost — no subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, no account. A tool that helps people through pain shouldn’t put the help behind a payment.

Everything, always

Free

No account, no trial, no expiry, no upsell.

  • Log unlimited attacks, with pain location, triggers, symptoms and notes
  • Your intensity trend over time
  • How you rated each medication and dose
  • The doctor-ready PDF report for appointments
  • Descriptive correlations with your sleep and cycle (from Apple Health) and the triggers you log
  • An on-device encrypted backup you can carry to a new phone
  • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
  • Everything kept on your phone, deleted in one tap
How it stays free

No data
for sale

The usual “free” trade — your data as the product — is exactly what Respite refuses.

  • Your record is never aggregated, licensed or sold — not to advertisers, insurers or pharmaceutical companies
  • There is no premium tier held back, and nothing you log is ever locked behind a payment
  • Respite is a small, deliberate app from MPC Digital, not a data business
Questions

Before you switch

Is the trend graph really free?

Yes. Your intensity over time, how you rated each dose, and the PDF report are the free app. You do not have to pay to see any of it, and you will not be asked to.

Can Respite tell me when a migraine is coming?

No, and it never will. Respite shows you what you have already recorded — counts, averages and plain summaries. It does not forecast attacks, score your risk or interpret your data on your behalf.

That is on purpose. An app that predicted attacks or named a condition would be making a medical judgement about you, and that is your doctor's job, not your diary's.

What happens to my data?

It stays on your iPhone. There is no Respite server, no account and no cloud sync, so there is no copy of your record for anyone — including us — to read, lose or sell.

The only thing that leaves your device is anonymous usage counts, which contain no health information. The privacy policy lists exactly what that covers.

Can I move my logs across from another app?

Not yet. Respite starts clean, and your trend line begins with the first attack you log. Bringing old logs across is something we are looking at — if it matters to you, tell us, because it helps us know how much it matters.

Does Respite use Apple Health?

Only if you turn it on, and only for the optional views that show what else you had logged on your attack days. With your permission Respite reads Sleep and Cycle Tracking so it can show when those were recorded alongside your attacks. It reads on your device, writes nothing back, and uploads nothing. You can withdraw the permission in iOS Settings at any time, and the rest of the app carries on working exactly as before.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone running iOS 17.4 or later. Respite works fully with no permissions granted at all — notifications and Health access are both optional, and neither is requested before you have logged anything.

Is Respite available yet?

Not on the App Store. The app is built and being tested ahead of submission, and this page will link to it the day it is live. If you would like to try the beta or hear when it ships, get in touch.

Respite is a personal record-keeping app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Everything it displays is a summary of what you entered. Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional about your symptoms, your medication and any decision about your care.
